There are 2 types of shipping, "charging" which is set by the network owner and "generation" which is set by the producer.

  • The "charging" shipping criteria is accessed and set by logging into the workflow as the "network owner".
  • The "generation" shipping criteria is accessed and set by logging into the workflow as the "producer".

Workflow users

In this section we will look at how users set up the charges and production of invoices for orders which contain an item that has been generated within the app.

The shipping method must be specified within the Administration Menu under the heading,

Shipping Method.

(Applicable to both Network Owners & Producers)

Here the type of carriage should be specified eg collection, standard, priority

The following headings are found within the Administration Menu within the shipping section:

Shipping Method Alias

(Applicable to both Network Owners & Producers)

An Alias, in this case, is the type of shipping specified on the order eg standard would mean a typical delivery time scale, priority would be a typically quicker delivery time scale.

Shipping Mapping

In this section the Network Owner sets out the following:

Region - The country that the recipient has specified as the place for the order to be dispatched to

Shipping Method - The type of carriage that can be selected for use

Weight Range - The brackets within which the weight of the item to be dispatched falls.

Active - This must be ticked to enable the option to be selected by the consumer.

The Network Owner is therefore setting a price for the fulfilling and dispatching of the item and allowing the customer to select their preferred shipping option.

Generation

The criteria specified by the producer using their login details will inform and enable the production of accurate shipping labels.

The information above is relevant to both the Producer and the Network Owner with the exception of the Shipping Mapping.

The producer needs to specify the details around the shipping eg standard shipping might be via the countries national postage system or a private courier system. Items may be dispatched using "tracked" postage, first class, second class, signed for etc

Within the Shipping Mapping section for the producer there are numerous fields which must contain information.

Region - This denotes the area that the item will be dispatched to

Shipping Method - This should contain all the options that there are for the carriage of the items eg priority, standard, tracked, collection

Weight - This specifies the weight of the item that can be dispatched

Carrier - This is the specific carrier which will be used to transport the items contained within the order eg DHL, Royal Mail, UPS, EVRI (UK)

Service Type - ?????

Packaging Type - This specifies how the items will be packaged eg thick envelope, small box, padded envelope,

Within the shipping admin section is a header titled Countries and Regions.

Here, the Producer needs to specify the regions and countries to create a table and a code for each country and region.

The region will have multiple countries within the region eg EU would denote Europe and this would contain many countries.

This code will be used to determine where the item will be dispatched to.

The information within these fields will enable exact shipping requirements to be selected and an accurate shipping label to be produced.
